The Presbyterian Association on Science, Technology and the Christian Faith (PASTCF) was organized in 1992 as the third science and religion initiative associated with the Presbyterian Church,USA, (PCUSA) since 1982.  The first was a Task Force on Theology and Cosmology.  The second was a Working Group in Science, Technology and the Christian Faith.  The two earlier groups were part of the denominational structure.  PASTCF is an independent membership organization affiliated with the PCUSA.

PASTCF's intent is that all members of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and beyond will come to understand that the knowledge acquired through scientific inquiry and technological innovation are gifts of God intended to provoke theological insight, promote social justice, facilitate gratuitous kindness, and inspire self-giving humility in relation to the whole of God's creation.
